An uncomfortable truth
Automotive Body Repair News
No doubt you're familiar with the name George Avery. Avery is the State Farm representative whose job I find the least enviable in the entire industry. Avery appears at industry events such as the Collision Industry Conference and speaks directly to repairers about State Farm's positions on various issues. In person, all of us who know Avery would say he's one of the nicest people we've ever met. When he's doing his job and fielding questions on some of State Farm's most controversial moves, needless to say, he's not the most popular guy in the room. By far. Avery, of course, understands this better than anyone.
What about our costs?
Automotive Body Repair News
In past industry meetings I've attended, someone usually points out that car rentals cost each insurer millions of dollars each day. The initial State Farm Parts Procurement Tests and now "Expanded Tests" are designed to reduce this expense by improving the parts procurement process.
Living in a corporate world

An epiphany is a sudden moment of insight when you learn something significant about life such as when you realized your parents weren't wrong about everything or when you discovered that married life was going to be far more complex in a different kind of way than you ever imagined.

Get out of the shop
Changing your surroundings is one good way to get new ideas
Automotive Body Repair News
Rarely, if ever, have I had another shop turn down a request to tour their facility. Most of us are proud of our businesses and are happy to show them off. And you can't spend 30 minutes walking around someone else's shop without coming away with at least one idea to help your business.
