Votes have been tallied and the Ford F-150 Texas Edition moseyed away with PickupTrucks.com's first Consumer's Choice award. Over the past three weeks, voters flocked to the PickupTrucks.com site to select their favorite Texas edition pickup truck from the Texas State Fair. The F-150 received over half of the total votes. The Chevy Silverado 1500 Texas Edition came in second, followed by the Dodge Ram 1500 Texas Lone Star Edition and the Nissan Texas Titan. "Texas is the biggest truck market in the country. So, Texans really know their trucks," said PickupTrucks.com editor Mike Levine. "The F-150 is an iconic pickup and Ford deserves kudos for taking more than half of the votes in this competition." In a survey done by PickupTrucks.com earlier this fall, 64 percent of pickup truck owners said they felt their pickup was an extension of themselves. Additionally, 45 percent spent at least $1,000 and 17 percent spent at least $3,000 customizing their truck. "Truck owners are among the most passionate and loyal of all vehicle buyers," said Levine. "Any manufacturer winning a consumer vote from this selective group should be proud." | ||
